Get an old mouse pad or an old towel and set the machine on it...this sometimes helps absorb annoying machine noise by absorbing some of the noise. My former machine an ResMed S9 Autoset was a very quiet machine that I used for 5 years until it failed. I consider my present ResMed S10 Autoset to be as quiet or quieter than the S9. It seems to be coming from the machine itself rather than the hose or mask. Otherwise the machine is very quiet. It is very disconcerting.I don't know the details of thee Luna machine. I had a F&P machine on trial that had this quirk. I think it used a timed switch from inhale to exhale. The ResMed that I have is much better. It does the switch based on sensed flow. One work around is to disable the exhale pressure relief feature. Then it uses the same pressure for inhale and exhale.
